The Forbidden Kingdom Movie Review

The Forbidden kingdom movie review - this film is a new movie starring martial arts legends, Jackie Chan and Jet Li, is set to open in theaters on April 18th.

In the 'don't lose hope' files Jackie Chan actually said in his blog that he had not had so much fun from fighting with someone since he fought for 15/16 years. Jackie said there fighting moves were so quick that director Rob Minkoff and cinematographer Peter Pau decided to slow down the camera speed (They are using a digital camera this time). Legendary martial arts stars Jackie Chan and Jet Li come together onscreen for the first time ever in director Rob Minkoff's time-traveling take on the Monkey King fable that finds an American teen transported back to ancient China after wandering into a pawn shop and discovering the king's fighting stick. Once there, the adventurous teen joins an army of fierce warriors who have sworn to free their imprisoned king at all costs.

I haven’t seen a good new kung fu movie for a while, the latest stuff always seems to incorporate a gun fight or some kind of gadget and there’s always a has been rapper in the cast to mix things up a bit. Of course, I hope nobody has ever confused these two martial artists and do not mean to insinuate they are anything like each other’s doppelganger.

There is a new The Forbidden Kingdom trailer out including a forty-second fight between Jet Li and Jackie Chan, below, and I’ve got to say I like it a whole lot more than the previous one. I still have a horrible feeling that this long awaited colaboration between Jet Li and Jackie Chan is going to be total trash… but I choose to hope beyond hope and expect it will be a better film than expected. There's lots of intense action as any of these films are for the genre.

Just watch the trailer and see for yourself as this trailer has got everything which will make me see this movie. Sounds like a great story too. A dog movie it seems, yet it is really about people. Most interestingly, people are talking about it, creating a ripple effect, especially after the Hong Kong Asian Film Screening in 2008. This is going to be a real mouth-watering oriental fantasy movie. Jet Li and Jackie Chan have never been in the same movie before.

Street Kings Movie Review and Movie Trailer

Street Kings movie review...By now you've probably seen the Street Kings trailer enough times to rap right along to its urban poetry soundtrack. But today we’ve got a new trailer, and it’s kind of R-Rated ! Street Kings is directed by the same guy who brought us Harsh Times a few years ago, a movie that I personally didn't like that much. I hope it's not as bad as that movie, but maybe Keanu Reeves and a different script will help. Even if this film pulls off the equivalent of what Ethan Hawke did in Training Day, this movie will probably not get the notice of the Academy.

The trailer does look impressive and this has potential to be really good movie in my view. The trailer is certainly fast-paced, stopping only occasionally to let Reeves or a member of the (impressive) supporting cast, which includes Hugh Laurie and Forrest Whitaker and Chris Evans, get in a brief line of exposition or mildly amusing quip. The spot is obviously meant to appeal on some level to the gangster type of crowd and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a soundtrack with some cool hip hop music when this movie hits the streets. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, check it out and you be the judge!!! Starts April 11th...

Vantage Point Movie Review and Trailer

Vantage Point isn't really about the audience solving the mystery first as much as watching the mystery unfold and discovering the puzzle pieces alongside the characters, video cameras and cell phones being their primary crime-solving tools. Sure, you can make guesses along the way based on some minor clues, but you'd mostly be shooting in the dark. Vantage Point starts to slide off the rails when it tracks a tourist (Forest Whitaker) and his trusty camcorder; instead of Zapruder-like intrigue, the episode has him running around like an agent in a rote thriller. The segments just get more ludicrous from there. Vantage Point follows, from start to finish, maybe 30 minutes in time, continually cut back to noon to start fresh from someone else's point of view. The president (or so it seems) gets shot.

When President Ashton is shot moments after his arrival in Spain, chaos ensues and disparate lives collide in the hunt for the assassin. Vantage Point takes place during a major world event where the President of the United States (played by William Hurt) has assembled a massive alliance of world leaders in a new plan to fight global terrorism. The movie happens all on the afternoon of a huge outdoor press conference in Spain with the leaders in front of cheering crowds. Vantage Point manages all this whilst remaining a fairly standard Hollywood blockbuster type movie. The story of a Presidential assasination is played out from several different viewpoints, each one giving us a different point of view and a little more information as to what is going on here.

Vantage Point is mainly based on a terrorist kind of movie and I think it really shows you how severe and horrible terrorism can actually be.

Bottom Line for this film: Go see this movie if you like action flicks!
