The Forbidden Kingdom Movie Review

The Forbidden kingdom movie review - this film is a new movie starring martial arts legends, Jackie Chan and Jet Li, is set to open in theaters on April 18th.

In the 'don't lose hope' files Jackie Chan actually said in his blog that he had not had so much fun from fighting with someone since he fought for 15/16 years. Jackie said there fighting moves were so quick that director Rob Minkoff and cinematographer Peter Pau decided to slow down the camera speed (They are using a digital camera this time). Legendary martial arts stars Jackie Chan and Jet Li come together onscreen for the first time ever in director Rob Minkoff's time-traveling take on the Monkey King fable that finds an American teen transported back to ancient China after wandering into a pawn shop and discovering the king's fighting stick. Once there, the adventurous teen joins an army of fierce warriors who have sworn to free their imprisoned king at all costs.

I haven’t seen a good new kung fu movie for a while, the latest stuff always seems to incorporate a gun fight or some kind of gadget and there’s always a has been rapper in the cast to mix things up a bit. Of course, I hope nobody has ever confused these two martial artists and do not mean to insinuate they are anything like each other’s doppelganger.

There is a new The Forbidden Kingdom trailer out including a forty-second fight between Jet Li and Jackie Chan, below, and I’ve got to say I like it a whole lot more than the previous one. I still have a horrible feeling that this long awaited colaboration between Jet Li and Jackie Chan is going to be total trash… but I choose to hope beyond hope and expect it will be a better film than expected. There's lots of intense action as any of these films are for the genre.

Just watch the trailer and see for yourself as this trailer has got everything which will make me see this movie. Sounds like a great story too. A dog movie it seems, yet it is really about people. Most interestingly, people are talking about it, creating a ripple effect, especially after the Hong Kong Asian Film Screening in 2008. This is going to be a real mouth-watering oriental fantasy movie. Jet Li and Jackie Chan have never been in the same movie before.
